Brattiness

i've been watching some of the other subs on #P&H, and without meaning to sound rude or critical, some of them come over in a not-so-good way, as brats.

By this i mean that they deliberately say or do things to provoke the Doms in the room, or sometimes the other subs. Examples i've seen:
throwing things at Doms and/or subs
tying Doms' shoelaces together

spanking Doms on the bottom
making sarcastic comments
answering back
sticking their tongue out at people
arguing with, or attempting to get out of, things that Doms tell them to do
whining, moaning, pouting
throwing tantrums on the floor

i think that there are 2 purposes to this behaviour - the main one seems to be to get attention and possibly a 'punishment' which the sub will actually enjoy, and also to get a reputation as 'feisty' and someone not to be crossed. And sometimes it seems to work, and both these outcomes are achieved. It just seems to me to be against everything that D/s is about to act in this way though. i know that most people in that room don't really know each other, and aren't in relationships with each other, but even so the lack of respect and basic submission really surprises me. *shrug*, maybe that's just me though................

libby, sweet one, although most Doms find such antics vaguelly amusing sometimes and may play with those bratty subs online every once in a while, if only to assert their Dominance over them (sort of a 'I can control even the feistiest sub' thing), I think you'll find that very few Doms would want to own a sub like that in real life. they're much too irritating and plain immature to make pleasant company or a pleasing sub.

Try to ignore them, sweetheart, and they'll get bored and leave you alone. you stick with what you're best at - being the sweet, lovely little libby that we all know and love :)
